Haryanvi is also spoken in the Indian capital Delhi, northern  Rajasthan, and Western Uttar Pradesh. Haryanvi can be further sub-categorized into Bagri Language, Mewati language, Ahirwati, Khadar, Bangaru, Deshwali. The accent of Haryanvi varies from village to village and no specific geographical distinction can be made. All accents intermingle to form the constructive Haryanvi language.

Culture

Bollywood films like Dangal (film), Sultan (2016 film) and Tanu Weds Manu: Returns have some usage & underlying theme of the Haryanvi language. These movies have received warm appreciation throughout India and abroad thus it increased the demand of Haryanvi songs. As a result, some non-native speakers have shown an interest in learning the Haryanvi language.

History of Haryanvi Songs

Haryana is rich in musical tradition and even places have even been named after ragas, for example, Charkhi Dadri district has many villages named Nandyam, Sarangpur, Bilawal, Brindabana, Todi, Asaveri, Jaisri, Malakoshna, Hindola, Bhairvi, and Gopi Kalyana.

The country-side or desi (native) form of Haryanvi music is based on Raag Bhairvi, Raag Bhairav, Raag Kafi, Raag Jaijaivanti, Raag Jhinjhoti and Raag Pahadi and used for celebrating community bonhomie to sing seasonal songs, ballads, ceremonial songs (wedding, etc.) and related religious legendary tales such as Puran Bhagat. This also uses melodic Raag Pilu on a scale using seven semi-tones. Singer and dance performer Sapna Choudhary has introduced Haryanvi music all over the world.
